“No pains, no gains” means that we have to do some effort for something, or we can get nothing. Although “few” times you can have the good effect with doing nothing but just wishful thinking. If you want something, you have to go for it.
For example, I used to be the most stupid student in our class. However, the encouragements from my teachers and the impetus from the classmates let me study harder than ever. Although I am not the smartest in my class, but I am not bad either.
If the outcome is worthy of my efforts, I will feel very glad.
To sum up, do your best as you want to transform something or get something. I has the belief that the final result must worthy of your efforts.
